Nestled between a row of quiet residential terrace houses in Chip Bee Gardens is home to the Monocle Shop in Singapore. The choice of location and space felt like a natural fit, and suited the understated yet urban vibe of the magazine.
Entering the premise feels like going to someone's home, except in this case, you'll be greeted with a retail space that's been tastefully curated. Fans of Monocle will be treated to a collection of their magazines, books, stationery and a small (but expensive) selection of bags and apparel.
My personal favourite is the outdoor garden (there's two - one at the front, and one at the back). When it's not crowded, it makes for a very inviting spot to be with a copy of your latest Monocle read, and a cup of coffee from the barista counter (complimentary coffee with every purchase of the latest issue).
A charming spot to visit next time you're in the Holland Village area.
