The Third Plate by Dan Barber

“We are as complex - or as monotone - as the foods we grow and consume. As the great gastronome Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin said, “Tell me what you eat; I will tell you what you are.”
— Dan Barber, The Third Plate

The Third Plate is one of the most important books I've read in recent years. It discusses food sustainability and makes one think about the current state food in our modern society. Anyone who cares about food beyond what gets served on the table should consider picking up this book.
